The division held its 2021 installation of officers on Saturday, Jan. 16 at All Saints Church immediately following our corporate communion at the 5:30 vigil Mass.
Our new president, Tom Masarick, spoke as follows:
Fr Ed, State President Jay, Officers, Chairman and AOH Brother ALL
Thank you, Fr Ed, – – I am very Happy that you accepted to be our chaplain and thank you and Father Lee for having our installation in the church and in January. I know how busy this parish is.
State President Jay McCarthy, thank you sir for making the trip to Manassas and being our master of ceremonies. It is good to have you here again. Well done!
I feel bad that we do not have a celebration or dinner after the installation tonight. We talked about it and it was decided to defer, to error on the side of caution. I look forward to our social events this year and other celebrations.
Accomplishments in our first month:
- Have held an Officers Meeting and we proposed our 2021 calendar and budget.
- We had a division meeting, and we approved the calendar and budget.
- We have a great group of officers that we installed tonight have experience and are tested.
- We also have a great group of chairmen – – looking forward to some great reports; FFAI, historian, vets affairs and organizers reports just to name a few.
- We are blessed to have at least two bagpipers and at least two that will be happy to lead us in Irish song. My favorite is Tim Finnegan’s Wake.
- Our February division meeting (as a test) will be in the Hall where there is more space, and we can better spread out and set up the meeting as per our guidelines.
- We have two new positions, and I am eager to reap the benefits: First, parliamentary/advocate – to update our bylaws from national’s and the new guidelines. Second, AOH Strategic Planner.
- In closing thank you all for coming out tonight to our corporate communion and to our installation of oficers. And hope I will see many of you on “road cleanup” next Saturday, January 23rd.
God bless and stay safe.
