Irish songwriter Brendan Graham said he did not have the “slightest idea” that his song “O, America” would be performed during Donald Trump’s inauguration.

He said he was “out for a walk” while the event took place “and then the texts started flying in”.

The 79-year-old has had previous international success with songs like ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Kids’ and ‘You Raise Me Up.’

The Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin was voted in as Taoiseach (Prime Minister). He was handed his seal of office by President Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin and returned to the Dáil (Parlement)to  He returned to the Dáil to set about the task of naming his new Cabinet which included some new faces, promotions, and just three women.

Pittsburgh Steelers to play in Croke Park Football Stadium as the first NFL game in Ireland confirmed.

The NFL will host its first regular-season game in Dublin in 2025.
