Brother Hibernian Kevin O’Connell and his wife Etie traveled to Rome in early September for the Baptism of their grandson.
Frederick Joseph Florkiwicz was baptized at the Basilica San Saba by Father Antoine Kerhuel of the Society of Jesus. Also in the photo above are the proud parents, Shannon O’Connell and Jakub Florkiewicz.
The Sept. 7 baptism was the same day that the Catholic Church canonized its two newest saints — Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati — elsewhere in the Eternal City.
O’Connell, a member of the Father Kelley Division, and his wife Etie stayed at the Residenza Paolo VI Hotel overlooking St. Peter’s Square on the same day as the canonization.
