
Division past president Richard Aleksy passed away on April 15, 2025, at age 79.
He was born on December 10, 1945, in Chicago, Ill. He received his degree from South Carolina University without ever setting foot on campus.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a submariner on the USS Henry L. Stimson, and after retiring as a Master Chief Petty Officer, he continued in the reserves. He moved his family to Manassas in 1977 to work as a Navy contractor.
Rich was active in the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Knights of Columbus on the local and state levels.
He was predeceased by his wife, Agnes Aleksy, his son-in-law, Jeffrey Taylor, and his parents, Stanley Aleksy and Helen Aleksy. He is survived by his siblings, Cathy Paciga (Doogan) and Stanley Aleksy; his sister-in-law, Maryann Labate (Ronald); his niece, Michelle; his grandchildren, Michael, Stephanie, and Victoria; and his great-grandchild, Alaiya Agnes.
