A recap of the past several months:
President Biden cited both US Catholic Bishops and Pope Francis in defense of federally funded abortions, despite the Bishops and the Pope’s consistent and vocal opposition to the practice of abortion. The US Conference of Catholic Bishops did in fact publish a letter to the House of Representatives and the Senate specifically calling for an end to taxpayer funding of abortion services.
Pope Francis has stated that he considers it an “incoherence “that President Biden, a Catholic, supports abortion. Pope Francis affirmed that there is scientific data that shows that “a month after conception, the DNA of the fetus is already there, and the organs are aligned”. There is human life.
I encourage our brothers to search some recent YouTube videos of homilies by some outstanding priests and Bishops who are speaking directly to this incongruence. They speak authentically and straightforward on the teachings of the church and our roles as followers of Christ on this issue as Catholics.

Lastly, in the news in recent days, a ruling was made by a US District Court Judge to halt the release of a new abortion drug. Lawmakers and HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra have called on the White House to not comply with the court’s ruling. We have never witnessed this blatant non-compliance with our constitutional rule of law. This issue is advancing to the Supreme Court.
We can’t forget when Roe was overruled to the extent that our President and other leaders went to to condemn and delegitimize our three-tiered system of government ( the Judicial Branch). Past Presidents traditionally addressed the public after controversial rulings and called for civility and adherence to the rule of law in accordance with our form of government.
Not any longer. Instead, we have seen a doubling down and a full-court press in the advancement of pro-abortion measures.
