I spoke last month about advocacy. Interestingly, in this month’s Hibernian Digest, Sean Pender, the AOH VP highlighted advocacy under the guise of All Irish Need Apply. Just bringing attention to our role in advocating for our Irish heritage
In the NOVEC Cooperative Living magazine for March, there was an article about Irish Bowling. We have participated in Irish Bowling in the past, and it may be worth a dialog to consider hosting an Irish Road Bowling event. The article discusses a match to be held at Montgomery Hall Park in Staunton on March 16th from 9:30-12:30. Not necessarily a strategic plan activity, but if falls in line with two of our principles: friendship and unity; two of three elements that underlie all that we do for this organization.
Unity and friendship also play heavily into our role with the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day dinner on March 16th. When you think of All Irish Need Apply, I encourage you to attend and place your name on the help list that is circulating.
Two food collections – another opportunity for friendship, unity, and Christian charity.
