January pro-life report

Pro-life chairman Paul Huber reported that he met with state Delegate Sewell at last year’s Virginia Pro-Life march and advocated that she votes for pro-life measures and against the expansion of abortion within the state.

She represents District 10, which is Paul’s district and many brothers in the Father Kelley Division. Paul said he was unable to attend this year’s meetings with Delegates and State Senators due to being out of the country in late January when this activity was scheduled again.

That’s separate from the upcoming march and rally in April.

Paul described as “tragic” House Joint  Resolution 1 which has passed the House of Delegates and would, in summary , if passed again in next year’s session ( as required by existing State law), fully enshrine as a state constitutional amendment the right to an abortion in the third trimester up to birth with only one doctor approving the procedure as opposed to three doctors, as it currently stands. It passed the House 51-48 and ultimately would be presented as a state amendment that would be voted by referendum by Virginia residents in the future if passed again next year.

Paul said the challenge we face is to do all we can to see that this does not pass in the next year’s future sitting session.
