Highlights of the Meeting: The Father Kelley Division fund raising efforts and results were discussed. The schedule of activities in 2023 was reviewed and modified. Future key fundraising events were discussed.
The meeting was called to order at 7:33 PM at the George Brent Council of the Knights of Columbus, 9290 Stonewall Road in Manassas by Vice President Greg Gibbons.
Recitation of the Opening Prayer & Pledge of Allegiance: In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Amen. In the name of St. Patrick, the Glorious Apostle of Ireland, I open this meeting and beseech our Heavenly Father to watch over us and protect us. Minutes from previous meeting. Mike Eggleston: The 10 April 2023 Minutes were distributed to all members and were posted to the division website on 26 April. No changes were received. A motion to approve the minutes was made, seconded and those members present voted to approve the minutes as posted on the division website.
President’s Report.
– Father Reuwer has been awarded a Certificate of Recognition from AOH, National.
– State Quarterly Meeting 0900 on May 13th at Saint Michael Catholic School at 7401 A St. Michael’s Lane Annandale, VA 22003.
– State Conference in Alexandria: Convention is scheduled for 14-16 July. Any AOH member in good standing may attend.
– Due’s Per Capita Increase: Officers agreed that we should raise our dues by $7 to a total of $31 effective 1 January 2024.The increase is a result of National and State increases that we must pay. Pat Sullivan checked with AOH State to determine the reason for their increase and the answer received was that this is a cost-of-living increase. Since we do not have a quorum present at this meeting. A vote will be accomplished at our next meeting.
– I would like to stress your Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity. I think we all want what’s best for the country and we all work together in that vein and respect each other’s opinion. I think we do a great job on Christian Charity and I’m hoping we get a lot more Friendship/Unity with things like the Picnic. We do get involved in some specific participation and I want to thank those who showed up for the road cleanup. It was fun and it only took an hour.

Communications & Correspondence. Mike Eggleston: As mentioned earlier, a Certificate of Recognition for our Chaplain was received from AOH National. It will be presented to Father Reuwer at a later date.

1.Cookbook Status. Mike Eggleston: We received 226 copies of our cookbook from the Morris Publishing Company. We have 45 remaining on hand. Our approximate profit is $1,300.
2.Golf Tournament, 5 June. The golf tournament will be rescheduled.
3.Calendar Events/Special Reports. Greg Gibbons reviewed calendar events.
- We had a good turnout for Parish Festival Support, 28-29 April.
- Division Picnic is 13 May 2 – 6 PM.
- We need another fundraiser for the Hunger Project.
- Wine Tasting is scheduled for 4 June. Bill Yochem will provide a flyer with information on this event.
- Beer & Brats is scheduled for 29 July. Brian Tumulty is handling this event.

3.Freedom for all Ireland (FFAI). Dominic Preston reported that the President of Ireland attended the Coronation of King Charles III. The Irish Air Corps observed three Russian ships off of the coast of Ireland which caused concern. Sean Keane the famed fiddler of the Chieftains has died.

5.Historian. Mike Eggleston provided his report on the Good Friday Agreement.
6. Hibernian Hunger Project. Bart Emanuel: No Report.

8.Political Education Chair (PEC). Vince Fitzpatrick: No Report.
9.Project St. Patrick. Rich Aleksy: Continue to keep our seminarians in your prayers.
10.Pro-Life. Paul Huber: No Report.
11.Publicity/Webmaster. Brian Tumulty has updated our website including photos of our 2023 officers. Users will find our website more user-friendly.
12.Strategic Planner. Mike Riley summarized our progress in finding a new location for our meetings: He and Pat Sullivan have visited the VFW in Manassas. It is the best alternative and could be used for our 12 June division meeting. This is a mile from our current division meeting location. The cost is $50 per meeting. It is easily accessible for handicapped people and has a storage unit in the back. It has 40 parking spaces. The facility can handle up to 100 people and has a kitchen area that we can use for division meetings. This location could also be used for other division events.

- Paul Hannan requested prayers for his father-in-law who passed away.
- Doug Morison asked for prayers for his brother-in-law who recently died.
- Greg Gibbons also asked that we pray for Pat Sullivan and his wife, Kay and also Brian Tumulty’s wife, Kathleen.
- Dominic Preston requested prayers for his wife.
